Verbena bonariensis
Commonly known as Purpletop Vervain, it is an outstanding tall, structural garden variety. Each plant has many slender willowy stems topped with fragrant lavender to rose-purple flowers in tight 2" clusters. Bee friendly. Tender perennial. Hardiness zone: 7-10. Can be grown as an annual. Height: 36" to 42".

Vervain. A widely diverse class, easy-going Verbena is generally regarded as being drought-resistant, tolerant of partial to full sunlight and happy in average, well-draining soil. Once established, Verbena requires little care, spreading out to cover its allotted flower bed space. Verbena should be started indoors 12 to 14 weeks before transplanting out after all threat of frost has passed. Deer resistant. Summer flowering.
