Erba Stella Minutina

50 days. A sweet grass Lettuce resembling a narrow Mizuna, Erba Stella develops into a small plant with a delicate rosette of slender green leaves. It is lovely as an addition to other greens like Rustic Arugula and Miner's Lettuce in salads. Harvest young and tender when it is about 5" long. (OP.)

Also know as Buck's Horn Plantain, Erba Stella is a unique, cold weather salad green prized in Italy for its mild nutty flavor and crunchy texture. Sow directly outside in early spring as soon as the ground can be worked or in the fall. It can tolerate moderate frosts and be grown all winter in temperate climates.

Average seed life: 2 to 3 years.
