Sunfill Purple Sunflower

New! This Sunflower is truly unique. Fascinating and gorgeous in avant-garde flower arrangements, it flaunts a full, spiky ruff of dusky purple-tipped gray-green tepals around a deep, dark center. As the blooms mature, a small, bright ring of inward-facing, short golden petals appears around the center. It’s weird and wonderful! Height: 4' to 6'.

One packet of about 50 seeds

  • Helianthus annuus. Originally a North American native, it is said that the Mormons strew Sunflower seeds along their journey to Utah so that others could follow their sunny path months later. Easy to grow in bright sunlight, our varieties have smaller centers and unusual color combinations. Direct-sow in well-draining soil with good sunlight every three weeks after the last spring frost date for continual blooms throughout the summer. Bee friendly. Deer resistant. Annual.

    Average seed life: 5 years.
