Blue Flax

The first time that we saw Blue Flax Linum was alongside the Yellowstone River in Paradise Valley, Montana. Appearing like little vibrant blue spotlights, Blue Flax Linum has profuse, yet delicate, little saucer-shaped cornflower-blue flowers with darker blue veins and a diffuse, white-edged yellow center above feathery foliage. On some days, these 1" flowers seemed to reflect the intensity of the deep blue Big Sky itself. HZ: 3-9.
