Daikon, Japanese for Radish, tends to grow larger and have a slightly hotter taste than their European-bred siblings. Daikon prefers cool weather to grow and is best seeded in early fall. As these Radishes grow, hill up the soil around them and keep the soil evenly (but not overly) moist and well-seeded.
