Early Crookneck Summer Squash

42-60 days. Cucurbita pepo. This 18th century heirloom is a beloved classic. The smooth, pale yellow fruits grow up to 10 inches long with a curved neck, but are tastier when picked on the small side. The flesh is creamy white, smooth, mild and sweet, perfect for grilling and sautéing. (OP.)

Avoid baseball bats~enjoy them small and sweet in ratatouille, stuffed and baked, grilled or sautéed with pasta. Bee friendly. Deer resistant.
