  • Information
  • A real multi-tasker in either its new spear-shaped or traditional plume and cockscomb forms, Celosia is wonderful for garden display, fresh bouquets and use as a dried flower in fall arrangements. It is best to start Celosia indoors in peat pots 4 weeks before transplanting outside: it dislikes any sort of root disturbance. If necessary, it can be sown directly into the garden after all threat of frost has passed in spring. To use as a dried flower, cut the plant at the base or snip individual stems. Bundle and hang upside down from your garage rafters out of direct sunlight until dry. Deer resistant. Tender annual. Summer flowering. Height: 24" to 30".

Average seed life: 4 to 5 years.
