Fireworks Globe Amaranth

Gomphrena globosa. A stunning newer variety, Fireworks is taller than most globe amaranths, with looser, 1-1½", fuchsia starburst blooms tipped with golden yellow. It's spectacular! Height: 3' to 4'.

  • Universally popular, this old-fashioned must-grow has clover-esque, colorful blooms that are wonderful additions to fresh and dried bouquets. The flowers are actually clustered bracts~the true flowers within the bracts are teensy and difficult to see. It is best started indoors 6 to 8 weeks before transplanting outside after all threat of frost has passed. To use as a dried flower, cut the plant at the base or snip individual stems when the flowers are about an inch in size. Bundle and hang upside down from your garage rafters out of direct sunlight until dry. But do use them in fresh arrangements too~they have a vase life of more than two weeks! Deer resistant. Annual. Summer flowering.
