Height: 18".

Average seed life: 1 year.

Potentilla nepalensis. Direct-sow in rich, very well-draining soil in full to partial sunlight in late summer or fall. Or start seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost date, pressing seeds lightly into the soil, as light is needed for germination. Provide even moisture and strong light. Harden off the seedlings by gradually acclimating them outside over 1 to 2 weeks before transplanting out. Once seedlings are 2" tall, thin or transplant 15" to 18" apart. Direct-sown seeds are more likely to flower the first full season in your garden. After the first flush of blooms has faded, cut back the flowering stems to rejuvenate the foliage and encourage new buds to form. Divide mature plants in early spring. Early- to late summer flowering. Height: 18".
