Amaranth

Amaranth caudatus. Quite the little multi-tasker, Amaranth is a magnificent ornamental plant which may also be enjoyed as a salad green like spinach, or harvested for its grain. Native to India, this ancient heirloom should be direct sown after all danger of frost has passed but may also be started 6 to 8 weeks before transplanting outside. Annual. Summer flowering. Height: 3’ to 5’.

#7080 Love Lies Bleeding Amaranthus
Love Lies Bleeding has verdant green foliage and luminous fuchsia-garnet flowers on long rope-like stems that look like thick, cascading dreadlocks. Prized in Victorian gardens, this old-fashioned drama queen puts on a really big show.
